Sunset scene of Barn Bluff from Waterfall Valley, typically an overnight stop along the iconic Overland Track. I think what I love most about scenes like this is how timeless they are. If you were a wombat residing in Waterfall Valley today, having a quiet little morning munch on some button-grass, I imagine this scene would look exactly the same as it would have one hundred years ago. Or perhaps even for an evolutionary ancestor of a wombat 40 million years ago?
Being so remote, protected and unspoilt, this region has been immaculately frozen in time, save for the inevitable impacts of weather and erosion...
